Early years
Building Foundations
K-6 is a time of nurture and getting the basics. Our littlest students dig into early literacy and numeracy through hands-on, guided learning like our BBA Guided Reading Program. Creativity gets nurtured here too — every elementary student takes part in our Elementary Spring Program, discovering their voice in performance and ensemble. The Reading Buddies program pairs elementary students with high schoolers, so even in kindergarten, your child is already experiencing what "one community" feels like.

Middle years
Finding Identity
6th-8th is a season of big questions and even bigger emotions — and we believe kids navigate that season best with adults who already know them. Our students are guided by teachers and coaches who’ve often watched them grow since elementary. Project-based learning, junior athletics with our collaboration in MCSAA, and ministry opportunities like Soulwinning prepare students for the next step with confidence already building under their feet.

High School
Preparing for the Future
By high school, your child is stepping into leadership built on years of foundation. Rigorous academics meet real-world readiness: Personal Finance, 9th grade Michigan History, and a 7th–12th grade Science Fair where students launch rockets and lead dissections. High schoolers mentor younger students, serve in ministry, lead chapel, and even take on lead roles in Patch Play—our high school performance showcase. The confidence to lead was built year by year.

Personal Growth in One Community
Growing up at BBA means growing up alongside peers, teachers, and staff who walk the journey with your child for many years. High schoolers mentor elementary students; the whole school gathers for chapel and worship together; and traditions and service days are shared across every grade. Even a kindergartener is part of something bigger than their own classroom.
And spiritually, that continuity matters too. Faith formation deepened through advancing Bible courses, with the same core values in the first day of kindergarten through the last day of senior year. The same Christ-centered, service-minded community that welcomes your child at five is the one that sends them off at eighteen.

Ruth’s Journey from
Kindergarten to Graduation
Ruth attended BBA from kindergarten through graduation. She continues to serve in church and credits her BBA community for shaping who she is today.
What do you remember most about your first years here?
The playground. I loved all my teachers — they were so helpful with whatever I was struggling with. I remember I was struggling in math during second grade, and Mrs. Allen was very patient and helped me with that. And field trips— especially going to Leeman’s Apple Barn and drinking apple cider with my friends.
What experiences shaped your spiritual or personal growth?
Something that helped me in both ways was playing music during chapel. I started with elementary music specials, and by high school I was playing piano for the the church congregation during services. Performing in different settings like that helped me get comfortable being in front of others
Was there a teacher or class that changed how you saw learning?
Mr. Coblentz opened my eyes to history — his history and Bible classes were huge for me. And Miss Evans taught me how to really research: finding good information, writing research papers by hand, and learning the rules of grammar. Those skills have stuck with me.
How did BBA prepare you for life after graduation?
I learned how to communicate — how to work with people, meet people, and adjust how I say things depending on who I’m talking to. I learned how to identify my own standards and live out my faith well.
Looking back, how do you feel about your time here?
I’m very thankful that I was able to go through BBA. Church and BBA were the most helpful parts of my life — I wouldn’t change it for the world.
